Austin D Pullicin, CFP®

Financial Advisor

I joined Northwestern Mutual in 2014 shortly after completing my Bachelor of Science in Finance/Economics from Carson Newman University in Tennessee. Having grown up in Asheville, I decided to move back to the mountains of Western North Carolina to start a career. Since joining NM, I have continued my passion of education by achieving my CLU® and CFP® certifications. I plan to continue pursuing knowledge to give our clients the best opportunities for success in an ever changing financial planning landscape. Additionally, I serve our office in a leadership capacity by running the NM internship program and helping new representatives get started in this incredible career.

Kathleen and I have been married since 2015 having met at Carson Newman. She has a passion for the special needs community and has been involved with the Autism Society of North Carolina since 2017. We enjoy the local food (especially Nine Mile) and beer scene and are constantly looking for ways to support local businesses. I am a Leadership Asheville graduate (Class 37) and served on the board of the Young Professionals of Asheville from 2017-2019.

Having both been raised in largish families, we are thrilled to become parents in the fall of 2020!

Wealth Management Advisor

I joined Northwestern Mutual in 1978 after completing my doctorate in management and finance at Florida State University.  In 1986, I earned the professional designation of Chartered LIfe Underwriter (CLU ®).  For financial representatives, the CLU® designation is the common bond for continuing growth and commitment to professionalism.

Then, in 1989, I earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation, confirming my commitment to understanding a client's total financial situation and maintaining the ethical standards adhered to through The American College.

After earning my professional designations, I went on to become president of the American Society of CLUs® and ChFCs® of Western North Carolina and president of Land of Sky Estate Planning Council.

Since my career with Northwestern Mutual began in 1978. I have become a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, the premier association for financial professionals, 15 times.
